School Bus Conversion~ Fiberglass Holes #22

Let me start by saying that I am glad we used fiberglass on the holes.  However it sucks! Working with fiberglass is not my favorite thing to do but it sure works great. The outcome is exactly what I wanted 100% waterproof seal that is super strong. I know that a lot of people use eterna bond tape and I did think about using that but wanted to make sure there would be no issues. I think it was like $70 bucks i spent to get all of the fiberglass materials and was money well spent in my book.  I would definitely do fiberglass again if I convert another school bus.

I thought it would be fun to start a new section of our YouTube channel. Live streams straight from the bus! Hopefully you will find these video’s entertaining as well as informative. We are just a regular couple converting a school bus into a tiny home on wheels nothing special. Well we might be a little special but only in the best possible way. I mean we do own and will live in a “short bus”.

School Bus Conversion #21 Back Panel Removal!

Yes this video is BOMB!

Especially after #20 which let’s be honest here… Just Sucked!! However in this video I think that I did a pretty good job overall. We also got a lot of work done including removing the back panels around the door. That was the big item that we got to cross off the list.

It was actually pretty easy removing them. After you take out all of the screws and some rivets, however on my door lock near where the latch comes across there is an extra support piece that has 2 rivets. DO NOT GRIND THEM OFF! You will want to keep them  as they are the only thing holding the edge together. At least that is how our bus is put together. Then after it is loose you just simply cut down the edge with your trusty grinder and Bob’s your Uncle they come right off.

If you have any questions or anything at all just leave us a comment on the video and we will get right back with you.

School Bus Conversion #20 Whole Lotta Nothing

Well If you have watched this video…

I am sorry because I dropped the ball big time on this video update. Do not worry though I made sure to make #21 extra awesome. Well I tried anyway. Anyways in this video as I am sure you can tell not much was completed other than scraping up the floor under the driver seat which unfortunately you’re not able to see because I thought I turned the camera on but never actually did. We weren’t out at the bus all that long anyway.

Just trust me on this that the next video is FANTASTIC and that work actually gets done.

School Bus Conversion Update #19

Last seat out of the bus!

So I got the driver seat out of the bus along with starting to get the risers and floor matt out. We took the seat over to Riggs Bros and it turned out amazing!! We will be catching you all up on the seat after we get it installed.

I know that I have been fairly lazy over this winter however come spring. It is going to be balls to the wall bus build crazy! I can assure you of that. We are going to crank this out and get on the road this June.
