Yes the bus is back in action and while we were absent from the storage area a new skoolie friend had started working on his bus. So I ended up going to Trans Chicago to have the bus fixed. Originally I had no idea that it was a Freightliner dealer and when I found out thought that was a good thing. I was under the impression that we were on a Freightliner chassis but apparently its an international??? Go figure because Freightliner bought Thomas Built Busses in like 98 or 99….. So i don’t understand why it would be an International Chassis but that’s what they said anyway. None the less they were able to bypass the school bus stuff and get the bus back in action for the low low price of $1,047.91 unfortunately a great deal more than the tow.
Well it is in fact true! Our bus does not currently start. But no worries I have wiring diagrams now from Thomas. I think I know what the issues are and you will have to watch another video for the answers. As I write this I have not fixed the bus so that will be one of the next videos!
Going for round 2 on the studs. Get the other side completely done.
How to put up interior studs in a skoolie. I am installing studs to secure everything to the wall. The studs are attached directly to the ribs in the school bus. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below. Big thanks to Steampunk Steve for his video which gave me the know how!
Brief little update on your school bus turned skoolie tiny home! Ran out of the safety yellow paint. So I decided to buy poo brown for the last little part. I couldn’t resist… =) HAHA
The floor is in!! WOOP!! WOOP!! Well the school bus has a floor again and some kick ass insulation. Feels really good when you finally get a small part of the big project done.
Will I ever finish the floor? Hope you are enjoying the video’s on building the subfloor. Building a school bus into a RV/TinyHome is a big project.
How to build a floating floor??.. Well for starters my plan is to not put holes in the bus floor. Bad Idea. Start with that and the rest kind of just works into place.
Want to know how to build a floating floor in a school bus? Well let me show you how I did it. Now I am just an avg Joe who read a bunch of stuff online in his cubical. This is just my $0.02 feel free to comment below on how you built your’s.
How do you convert a old school bus into an RV? By putting in the hours! HaHa! It takes a lot of hard work, research, and common sense.
